Our story
Started in a kit bag in 2018.
Sienna Ortega founded LA Makeup Studio in 2018 after eight years freelancing for studios and editorial productions. The studio started as a single mobile-glam kit, working weekend weddings between weekday shoots.
The first 50 weddings taught us what mattered: arrive 30 minutes early, set up quietly, never use a product on a client we haven’t tested in flash photography ourselves, and never show up with fewer artists than the chair count requires.
By 2022 we were a four-artist team. By 2024 we had served 500+ brides across LA County and won The Knot’s Best of Weddings every year since 2023. We’ve kept the same standard on the morning of wedding 1 and wedding 500: calm, on time, photographed properly.

Founded LA Makeup Studio in 2018 after eight years freelancing for studios and editorial. Trained at the Cinema Makeup School; worked productions including two HBO series and one A24 feature. Lives in Echo Park.

Our kit carries foundation in shades 100 to 310 across multiple brands. Our hair team trains across straight, wavy, curly, and type-4 coily textures.
